More than 40 years ago. A male baby was brought into the world. His parents loved him dearly , trying hard to satisfy his needs. His pleasure was the whole family’s joy.

四十多年前，一名男婴呱呱坠地。父母视他为掌上明珠，只要力所能及，要啥给啥。他的快乐就是全家的欢喜。

Day after day his father labored tirelessly in the fields. His mother helped him as much as she could. However, they lived a poor life.

日复一日，不知疲倦地，父亲侍弄着庄稼。母亲能帮多少帮多少。然而，他们依然挣扎在贫困线上。

The boy goes by the name of Liu Ming. He was born and spent his childhood and adolescence in a little unknown mountainous village, Hunan Province, which few people visited.

男孩取名“刘明”，童年和青春期在湖南省的一个小山寨度过。小山寨默默无闻，极少见到来客。

His father, who is illiterate but knows the importance of gong to school, advised him to study hard and make progress every day. While serving in the army, he realized that only a knowledgeable peraon can be promising.

父亲不识字，却知道读书的重要，告诫他好好学习，天天向上。在部队当兵时，父亲发现，只有学识渊博，才能前程光明。

Liu Ming was a bright boy. His sister decisively dropped out of school and raised sheep and pigs so that his father would have less difficulty supporting the family. From then on, Liu Ming studied harder than ever.

刘明脑子反应快。为了减轻父亲养家的负担，妹妹果断选择退学, 牧羊喂猪。从此，刘明学习更加勤奋。

Obviously, to be educated was not just his own business. He should study for his sister, too. Burdened with this responsibility he had no choice but devote himself to reading and writing.

显而易见，读书不仅仅是她自己的事情。他还要替妹妹读书。肩负这一责任，除了埋头学习，他什么也不能做。

Finishing basic education Liu Ming continued his pursuit of dream at Hunan Machinery School, where he read many books rain or shine . Actually he enjoyed reading so much that he seldom felt bored or sleepy.

中学毕业后，刘明继续在湖南机电学校追梦，聚精会神读书，读完一本，接着读下一本，风雨无阻。他太迷恋读书了，既不烦躁也不瞌睡。

After graduation Liu Ming worked in Changsha Boiler Plant. By day he faced iron and steel,manufacturing boilers; during the night he faced a book obtaining knowledge and skills .

走出机电学校，刘明分配到长沙锅炉厂上班。白天，他面对钢铁制造锅炉；夜里，他手捧书本汲取知识和能耐。

Unfortunately, the future of his enterprise was worrying and disappointing.

很遗憾，企业不景气，人们焦虑、失望。

Liu Ming was pooly paid, but he believed that everything would change for the better. Anyway, the boiler was a good platform attracting various talents. Who you are doesn’t matter. What is essential lies in who your companians are. Liu Ming was like a plane. He was ready to take off from the boiler and fly up into the sky.

刘明工资微薄, 但是，他相信一切都会好起来的，不管怎么说，锅炉厂是一个靠得住的平台，人才济济。你是谁不重要，重要的是你与谁同行。刘明像一架飞机，准备从锅炉厂起飞，奔赴浩瀚的苍穹。

Several years later, Liu Ming became an editor and journalist. A large number of articles he wrote drew unusural attention.

几年后，刘明成为一个编辑兼记者。他写的许多文章引起强烈反响。

Liu Ming takes a surprising interest in literature. It was literature that put him on the right paths. Being an idealist Liu Ming serves the the people heart and soul and make contributions to his hometown enthusiastically. To be the best version of himself is his greatest wish.

在文学方面，刘明兴趣极其浓厚。正是文学，让他走上正确的道路。他是一个理想主义者，全心全意为人民服务，激情澎湃为家乡立功。做最好的自己是他最大的愿望。

Working at the Changsha Boiler Plant, Liu Ming kept his younger brother and the second younger sister at school. Every month he spared part of his wage for them to use. Thus he didn’t get married until they were financially independent.

在长沙锅炉厂上班期间，刘明供弟妹读书，每月抽出工资的一部分留给弟妹使用。所以，一直到弟妹自食其力，他才迈入婚姻的殿堂。

When it comes to chasing the dream, Liu Ming says the shortest road to success is one’s religious devotion, first-love-like passion and unconditional effort. Man proposes; God disposes.

谈起追梦的话题，刘明说，通往成功最近的路只能是宗教般的虔诚、初恋般的热情和无条件的辛苦。谋事在人，成事在天。
